A tree service involves a company or person making a living by taking care of trees for businesses, individuals or residential areas.
Normally, you would call a tree service when:
•You have dying or dead trees that have to be removed prior to them becoming hazardous.
•You have one or possibly a large number of trees on your lot that need pruning etc.
It is important to carefully identify your exact needs as not all tree service companies perform the same tasks. Share your needs with the company and get confirmation of their abilities before hiring.
Also make sure all tree companies are bonded and insured. A reputable tree company shouldn’t consist of two guys in a pickup truck. Check their credentials.
Get it into the agreement that when the job is complete, all remaining pieces are hauled away so the area is completely safe and clutter free.
A good tree care company should have plenty of experience and knowledge. They should be aware of how to remove dead branches safely while not causing damage to the live tree. In addition, topping and pruning should be nonnegotiable skills.
The owner should be an arborist, a professional designation for a tree doctor. Failure to find a professional could ultimately cause permanent damage to your trees including disease, death or disfigurement.
Your company should also give a free estimate after gathering your verbal requirements. As a consumer, it would behoove you to get at least 2-3 of these estimates before reaching a decision.
Again, make sure the estimate includes a total clean-up of the area and debris.
Finally, ask the tree service company to check out the rest of your trees and inform you of any damage or problems. Most companies will gladly do this and enjoy building a relationship with clients.
