Best Eateries In Ocala

Ocala is just a small town, but it has restaurants that would rival any big city in Florida.  From Pizza to Indian Cuisine, the horse capital of the south has what you need.

Here are a few of my personal favorites:

First, is the Amrit Palace.  It has been around since the early 1970’s and it specializes in Pakistani and India treats.  It is a large place with red and gold color that makes it stand out from its competitors.  The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner only and presents an inviting, family-oriented atmosphere.  If you have never tried Indian food, this is the place to go.

Next is Ayuttaya.  This is a one-of-a-kind eatery that features food from Thailand.  It ahs only been around for a few years but has risen to the top among locals for many reasons.  It has an immaculately decorated interior that makes you feel warm and cozy. The food is tremendous and includes a wide range of dishes.  They are open Monday through Saturday for lunch and dinner.

Next up is Brooklyn’s Backyard.  This cool little place features a golf green inside and a rustic exterior.  It sits on Silver Springs Blvd. and is a lunch and dinner place only.  It also has a bar and much of the food is bar type food including burgers, pizza and chicken wings.

La Cuisine is the next in line.  It has been a favorite in Ocala since 2009.  It can be found in the area of Ocala known as historic downtown.  Open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday, the interior features a wooden accented look with red walls that will surely grab your attention.  The restaurant features European dishes that will cleanse your pallet.

Lastly, we have my favorite Latinos y Mas.  This Latin themed eatery has been around since 1991. This place makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in.  The staff is friendly and competent.  It is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday.  The menu is truly the best you will find in town and features everything from Latin to char-grilled steak.  Their dessert is also unique and as tasty as it gets.

There are plenty more great places to eat in Ocala, you just must take the time and put in the effort to find the best.  Try the ones listed above and you are guaranteed to hit a home run!
